John W. Elliott
John Elliott, founding partner of Elliott & Elliott, is Of Counsel to the firm and provides strategic case advice and trial consulting. As a distinguished trial attorney and recognized expert in his field, John has successfully tried dozens of cases for more than 40 years and has recovered more than $500 million for his clients in settlements and verdicts. His practice includes a broad range of matters, including construction defect, design defect, construction delay, products liability, insurance coverage, insurance bad faith, investor fraud, business torts, and environmental cases.
John was born in San Mateo, California on August 2, 1948. He is admitted to practice in California, the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California, U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is also a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association and American Bar Association.
John received his B.A., magna cum laude, in 1970 from Claremont McKenna College. He continued his education at Harvard University on a Rockefeller Fellowship from 1970 to 1971. He received his Juris Doctor in 1974 from Stanford University and clerked for Justice John W. Kerrigan of the California Court of Appeal from 1974 to 1975.
